Doctrinal Statement

THE WORD OF GOD: We believe the Bible to be divinely inspired, inerrant, and the final authority for faith and conduct.   2 Timothy 3:16, 17, Psalms 19:7-11, Psalms 119:89

THE TRINITY: We believe in the One Holy Almighty God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit; co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory and having the same attributes and perfections. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit function distinctly, yet in harmony, in the work of creation, providence and redemption.    Deuteronomy 6:4, 2 Cor 13:14; John 10:30

JESUS CHRIST: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became a man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man.   We believe that Jesus Christ redeemed us by His death on the cross as a representative, substitutionary sacrifice; and that our justification (declared to be not guilty) is made sure by His physical resurrection from the dead. We believe that Jesus ascended to heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where He is our high priest and advocate.  Acts 1:9-10, Hebrews 7:25, Romans 8:34, 1 John 2:1-2; Romans 3:24- 25, Titus 2:14 John 1:1-2,14; Luke 1:34-35, Colossians 1:15-18

THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe in the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment; and is the supernatural Agent in regeneration baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption. John 16:8-11, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Romans 8:9, Ephesians 1:13-14

MAN: We believe that God created man in God’s own image.  Through Adam’s sin all men (the human race) inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God.  Man is totally depraved, and of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. Genesis 1:26 – 27, Romans 3:22-23, 5:12, Ephesians 2:1-3

SALVATION: We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.  All who are thus saved are thereby born again of the Holy Spirit into the family of God, a relationship in which they have eternal life.    Ephesians 2:8-10, John 1:12, John 10:27-30

CHRISTIAN CONDUCT: We believe that all believers can and should live to please Christ in all areas of life because of their position in the relationship to the Lord Jesus.  They should grow daily in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord resulting in the manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit. Ephesians 4:1-7, Hebrews 4:14-16, 2 Peter 3:14-18, Galatians 5:22-23

THE CHURCH: We believe in the church universal, consisting only of those who are born again, called the Body and Bride of Christ.  The evidence today is the local church where believers exercise spiritual gifts through the power of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:22-23, Ephesians 4:4-6, Ephesians 5:25-27, Romans 12:3-8

THE ORDINANCES: We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ instituted two ordinances to be observed by all believers until His return; water baptism and the Lord’s Supper.  These are never to be regarded as a means of salvation or obtaining merit with God.   Matthew 28:19, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

THE INSTITUTION OF MARRIAGE: We believe marriage is a union designed by God and teach that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman and God for a lifetime.  Mark 10:6-9, Leviticus 18:22, Genesis 2:21-24

THE RETURN OF CHRIST & ETERNITY:  We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal joy of the righteous and the endless suffering of the wicked. Matthew 16:27; John 14:3; Acts 1:11; Phil. 3:20; I Thessalonians 4:15; II Timothy 4:1; I Corinthians 4:5; II Thessalonians 1:7-10
